We’ll provide you with everything you will need for an unforgettable trip
Your holiday should be just that – YOURS – personal and unique, tailored to exactly what you would like. Once we have made contact with each other, we will have as much dialogue as you wish and how you wish, so that we can toss ideas around, find out what it is that lights your fire and together we will plan your trip.
You may already have something special in mind, you will of course get many ideas from the Inspiration and Sample Itineraries pages on our website and we are quite sure that family and friends will have also marked your card. The great beauty of coming here with Roundabout New Zealand is nothing is fixed and we can work together to make your holiday. Once we have dates and your itinerary firmed up, we will make all your bookings – you don’t need to worry about a thing.
We will then send you a full detailed itinerary, a day by day plan of holiday accommodation and contact information for you while you are in New Zealand, and pre-departure advice (currency, packing list, tipping, driving, sun protection, electricity, wifi and a whole lot more).
On arrival we will send a full travel pack to your first nights accommodation. This will include a further copy of your itinerary. It is the depth of detail of this itinerary on which we pride ourselves and which in our experience is unique – suggested stops, walks, cafes, restaurants, view points, diversions, places to swim etc.- it is this extra information that will make sure you get the most out of your New Zealand holiday.
It will also include all your vouchers for accommodation, rental cars and pre-booked activities, tickets (ferry, flights, trains), practical information about New Zealand and last but not least – a decent NZ road atlas. While you are in New Zealand we are available to help you 24 hours a day should you need us. Our contact details will be in your pack.
What to budget? As everyone’s holiday is different and unique to them, it is impossible to say. They vary in length, season, accommodation and activities. That said, you probably need a ball park to help you plan. So for a high season holiday, staying in good accommodation, some activities (eg whale watch, a days kayaking), car hire and transportation (domestic flights, ferries, trains and airport pick up and drop offs) would start at approx NZ$300 per person per day for two people travelling together.
You may wish to throw in the odd accommodation treat by staying in a boutique lodge, a scenic flight or some more activities, upgrade your car to an SUV. If this is the case you are looking at starting from approx. NZ$400 per person per day, (two people travelling together sharing a room).
You may also wish to indulge in luxury lodges, helicopter flights and more. We can discuss these options with you.
Perhaps you were thinking of something a bit less. If this is the case, look to our shoulder seasons, when you will still strike lucky with the weather. Talk to us.
It is possible that you could book it all yourself, but your holiday isn’t just a matter of stringing each of the elements together. With our local knowledge and experience not only do we fill in the gaps as you travel from place to place alerting you to the gems, the walks, the view points, the cafes, even what time to get going in the morning but we also balance your route and length and number of stops so that your holiday is relaxing, interesting and seamless.
